WORSHIP MINISTRY

WELCOME TO SOUTHERN HILLS WORSHIP

Worship is at the heart of the Christian faith, and we seek to honor God with our voices, instruments, and our lives. Worshiping God is our response to a God who saves, and we joyfully express our thanks for his love and grace in our lives. Our desire is not to see worship as an event, but a lifestyle. We want to “love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength” and encourage others to join us in celebrating and worshiping Him. Join us in the song of worship!

Worship Choir
If you have a passion for worship and a desire to help lead the church in praise … then the Worship Choir is for you! As a member of the Worship Choir you have an opportunity to join other Believers who love to worship the Lord and lead others into His presence. We are always seeking people who are willing to join us as we lead the Southern Hills family in worship. Worship Choir rehearses each Wednesday at 6:00pm in the Rehearsal Hall (upstairs Fielder Hall). Those who are unable to rehearse Wednesdays, you can access our rehearsals through a weekly live stream. Please contact the Worship Ministry office for more details (405-682-1636). Come join us in singing praises to the Lord Most High!

Jubilee Choir
We meet on Wednesdays at 3:30pm in the Rehearsal Hall. This group is made up mostly of those 55+ but all are invited. We have sung at places like The Museum of the Bible in Washington DC, the International Mission Board, Veterans Centers, Will Rogers Airport for incoming troops along with area churches and living centers.

Worship Orchestra
The Worship Orchestra is comprised of adult and student musicians who have a desire to use their instrumental gifts to worship God. Each week the Worship Orchestra accompanies our Worship Choir and the Southern Hills worshiping family in a statement of praise. If you are an instrumentalist we would love to have you join this outstanding group. Orchestra Rehearsal is Wednesday nights at 7:15 in the Worship Center.
Handbells
SHBC has three handbell groups that are active and use their musical talents to express their worship. The groups are organized by age groups: adult, youth, and children. Requirements: Adult ringers must be able to read music; youth are not required to read music. Children are not required to read music and this is an excellent way for children to begin their musical journey.

Media and Technical Team
The SHBC Media and Technical Team is a vital and important ministry at SHBC. Each week our Media and Technical team runs audio, video, lights, graphic design, on-screen presentation and more to effectively communicate the gospel in a way that the message of Christ is heard and understood. In addition, our services are broadcast on live radio and on the internet. If you are interested in the Media and Technical ministry, please contact one of our Media Team members or see Pastor Sean.
Kids Worship
Choir is for any child 1st-6th grades. The purpose is to learn about music and worship through songs, games, instrument making and much more! We want our children to learn how to lead in Worship, not just sing as a performance. Kid's Worship choir meets every Sunday night (We start back August 20th!) at 5:00pm in the North Building Parlor.

Kindergarten Choir
Preschool Choir is for children ages 3-Kindergarten. Music is a vital part of a child's growth and development. During choir they use music, movement and instruments to learn about God and also set a foundation of musical knowledge. Preschool Choirs meet every Sunday night (during the school year) at 5:00pm in the Preschool Area.

SHBC Fine Arts Academy
The School of Fine Arts is a ministry of Southern Hills Baptist Church located in South Oklahoma City. We are proud to offer private instruction in a variety of areas including piano, guitar, drums, strings, voice and many more. Students of all ages are welcome. It is our desire to provide you with the best Fine Arts instruction. All of our teachers are highly qualified and experienced in their field. We are dedicated to creating an atmosphere where students can grow in their area of Fine Arts study, grow spiritually through the encouragement of Christian teachers, and learn to use their talents to the glory and praise of God.
