Missions & Evangelism

Southern Hills Baptist Church is committed to praying, giving, and going to fulfill the Great Commission. Around 25% of our annual giving goes to missions causes, and hundreds of our people are involved in dozens of ministries around our city and state and overseas. Our intention wherever we go is to be intentionally evangelistic as we minister to real needs around us. Pray about partnering with us and letting God use you to reach people across the street, and around the world with the life changing gospel of Jesus!

Purpose

The purpose of the Missions and Evangelism Office at Southern Hills is to provide training, resources, information and opportunities to mobilize our church to proclaim the Good News of Jesus in our city, our nation and even to the ends of the Earth.

Our Objectives

Discipleship:

• We train believers to have a strong worldview
• We train believers how to share the Faith
• We train believers to defend the Faith
• We train believers for cross-cultural experience
• We train believers in languages for use on short, mid or long-term trips

• We provide Bibles to those who need them
• We provide invite cards, tracts, books and materials for you to use
• We provide access to information through our website

• We organize and connect you to local outreach opportunities
• We organize and connect you to international outreach opportunities

• We promote our local and international partnerships
• We promote our partner missionaries
• We promote missions giving
• We maintain a prospect database for contact, mail-out and promotion
• We study the demographics of our area to reach out to our changing area

• We strategize for evangelistic community outreach
• We strategize for newcomer followup
• We strategize for newcomer assimilation
• We strategize for long term missions relationships
• We strategize for priorities in missions giving

Our desire is to reach the people of south Oklahoma City, the people in and around our nation and people in the most remote places in the world.
