English Corner

Purpose

The purpose of English Corner at Southern Hills Baptist Church is to demonstrate the love of Christ to the local international community by meeting the immediate need of english training, and the ultimate need of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Mission

We accomplish this mission by providing multiple levels of classes (from beginning to advanced).  Here teachers are able to develop relationships with students where the possibility of sharing the gospel becomes a realtiy.  Also, students are exposed every week to evangelistic testimony and gospel centered music. 

For advanced students, we bridge them to our Sunday school class called the Summit where the Bible is taught in simple English.  For those whose ability is not quite there, we connect them to ethnic pastors who can follow up and make contact with them. 

For children, we offer our children's tutoring for those between 1st and 6th grade.  Here we provide one-on-one tutoring in simple reading and homework exercises. 

Involvement
