He met his wife (Brandi Anderson) at a BSU Bible study at Cameron University, and they were married on January 7, 1994. They are blessed with 4 children: Ansley, Chandler, Carly, and Warren.

After serving in the U.S. Army in Desert Storm and Shield, James went on to complete his B.A. at Cameron University, and then he attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received his Masters of Divinity with Biblical Languages. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth. Since 1994, his ministry experience has ranged from pastor to church planter to missionary in Central Asia.

Family

James' wife, Brandi, previously worked as a software engineer, but now gives her energies and priorities to being a homemaker. She home schools her four children, and in her spare time she writes and uses her master's degree in Women's Studies from Southeastern Seminary to minister to women. She has also published a book for missionary wives and mothers. James' children are Ansley (loves the piano and cooking), Chandler (likes sports and building things), Carly (loves the violin and drawing), and Warren (likes to entertain and play video games).

Great Spiritual Marker: One great marker in my life was when my forth child was born. Growing up in a broken home, where my parents divorced when I was five, I was left with a great sense of loss in my life. I can still remember holding my newborn son. I was one of four from my father, and this was my forth. I didn't have the luxury of having my family together as a child, but God showed me in that moment, that all that Satan had stolen from me was restored. I have had the opportunity to be the dad that I didn't have; my kids have the family I never had. It is a great testimony of what the Lord can do - He  can restore the lost years, and make it right.
